This trip is going to take you through the everyday life of the rural people of Bangladesh as well as give you a brief tour of the major tourist locations of the capital. You will get to learn about the heritage of this 400 year old town that is Dhaka. Tangail is a city of Tangail District in the central region of Bangladesh 98 km north-west of Dhaka. It is one of the important cities of Central Bangladesh and main urban area of Tangail District. Gayhatta is a village located in Nagarpur Upazila of Tangail. This place is located in an interesting area. It has river Dhaleswari at the eastern side and the River Jamuna at the western side. It is believed that there were a naval route between the Kolkata and Nagarpur that time. Here you will witness the lives of the Paal community and how they make pottery out of earth, learn the ways of local cooking, get the chance to live a day in their lives. The tour is also going to take you to Dhamrai Metal Arts and Crafts Area, the only place in the world where the lost wax procedure is still in practice. Explore these hidden gems and get lost in the rural lives of Bangladesh.
Arrival in Dhaka and transfer to guest house. Tourists will be staying in a 3-star rated guest house in Dhaka(Le Chateau VIP Guest House).

09:30 AM: You will be greeted by a local host family. They’ll take you to iconic places of the city like the national museum, Shahid Minar, Lalbag Kella, Ahsan Manjil, Parliament House etc. Through them you’ll get to learn a lot about the 400 year old city that is Dhaka.
06:00 PM: Transfer to guest house
07:30 PM: The host family is going to spend the entire evening with you talking and getting to know each other’s culture. Afterwards, you’re going to enjoy Japanese style dinner with the host family.
06:30 AM: Start early morning drive from Dhaka to Tangail(50Km) in private vehicle.
07:45 AM: On the way stopover at Savar Joy Restaurant.
08:00 AM: Visit to National Martyr’s Monument.
09:00 AM: Resume journey towards Tangail.
12:30 PM: Arrival in Tangail. In Tangail you’ll be staying in a village named Gayhatta (24.06814456151135°N 89.83941614627838°E). During your stay in the village you’ll get an opportunity to mix with the locals and get to know their cultures better.
03:00 PM: Tour of the village.
05:00 PM: Afternoon tea and chat with the locals.
06:00 PM: In the evening you’ll get cooking lessons from the local people of the village. You be helping them in preparing dinner for the night.

09:00 AM: Visit to “Paal Para” where the locals use earth to create handicrafts with the help of heat. Experience this traditional way of handicraft making along with lessons on how to do this yourself. Learn their ways of creating objects out of earth.

03:00 PM: Visit to local mosque. A tour of the nearby paddy fields afterwards.
06:00 PM: In the evening enjoy a cultural show performed by the local people from the village. The story of their everyday life will be portrayed through the performances.

09:00 AM: After breakfast you’ll be taken to a nearby fishing spot. There, you will learn the ways of local fishing and also take part in it. You’ll spend the entire morning there.
02:00 PM: You’ll be having lunch with the fishes you caught that morning. After lunch there will be a free time where you can either interact with the locals or visit nearby market places.
03:00 PM: Exploration of “Chowdhury Bari”, an almost 100-year old manor house which used to be the residence of the lord of that region. The Zamindari of Nagarpur was established during the 19th century by the Jodunath Chowdhury. It’s right now a massive complex which is known as Choudhury Bari as well. They are very helpful towards the people of their area. One of the decedent from the family named Suresh Chandra Ray Choudhury was the founder secretary of the famous club East Bengal from this Sub-continent.
07:00 PM: Return to village house and enjoy some free time till dinner.
09:00 PM: Dinner.

08:30 AM: Drive from Tangail to Savar.
11:00 AM: Reach Savar. Visit to Dhamrai Metal Arts and Crafts Area. A 5000 years old tradition survives in 30 villages around Dhamrai and can be traced back to the Pala Dynasty (800-1100 AD), during which time both early Buddhist and Hindu settlements once flourished. It is also known as a ‘Workshop of Metal Arts and Crafts in Dhamrai’. This aspect of history is explicitly reflected in each of the metal crafts produced in Dhamrai.
02:00 PM: Packed lunch.
03:00 PM: Continue exploring Dhamrai Metal Arts and Crafts Area.
04:00 PM: Drive from Savar to Dhaka in the evening. Transfer to guest house in Dhaka.
08:00 PM: You’ll be joined at dinner by the host family once again. This time you’ll be enjoying traditional Bangladeshi food with them as they bid farewell to you.
